David Siteman Garland, founder, host and visionary behind The Rise to the Top, thought I qualified when he listed me as one of his “35 Female Visionaries You Need to Know.”

I was delighted to find myself in the company of other St. Louis visionaries (and luminaries) like Maxine Clark of Build-A-Bear, Dani Apted Schlottman of the St. Louis Aces and Ria Sharon and Suzanne Tucker of My Mommy Manual.

My good friend and cohort, Dafna Michaelson of The Journey Institute, was also on the list along with nationally recognized success mavens like Pamela Slim, Ali Brown, Alexis Martin Neely and Patti Stang.

So nice to have my “vision” recognized and to be placed in the company of so many women I respect!

I was, as always, blown away by the value and authentic Passion, Purpose and Presence they both brought to the stage. We closed with a panel discussion and, before I knew what they intended, Bob had taken charge of the mic to share with the audience his experience in having me as a coach. Not to be outdone, Scott took the mic and shared his own thoughts. It was all I could do not to blush, and nothing could keep me from bursting with pride.

Bob and Scott have both been so instrumental in my connecting MY passion and purpose, to have the opportunity to be their “opening act” made this an event that will forever be one of my fondest memories.

This two-day conference was designed to offer information on every stage of tech start-up and launch, from conception to budgeting, from incorporation to marketing, funding to management and they covered a whole lot of ground in between.

I was asked to present a couple of sessions on building networks both online and offline. We covered the difference between networking and marketing and delved into effective online strategies for both. We also discussed how to cultivate relationships through in person meetings and through social network sites.

On Sunday, the final day of the conference, I was asked to facilitate and participate in a panel dedicated to social media and online networking.

In a tribute to the power of online networking in building community, I had the opportunity to host 50 in 52 Journeywoman and founder, Dafna Michaelson to St. Louis.

The journey for us started with a tweet from Terry Bean, a master connector and founder of Motor City Connect, whom I had first “met” on Facebook through our mutual friend, Lewis Howes. Terry tweeted that he was looking for social media experts in the Chicagoland area to help Dafna make connections there.

Having connected with Brian Tomkins and Gilbert Merlot during their Go-Giver Tour Project, I made an introduction through twitter. I was tickled to be able to put some great people in touch with each other and aid a very impressive mission, but I didn’t expect it to turn into anything more.

I couldn’t have been more wrong. That introduction turned into an interview with Dafna on my passion for connecting people and my philosophies on business. Brian and Gilbert also came into St. Louis for Dafna’s visit here and the three of them presented in a panel discussion on Social Media in non-profit fundraising at a Social Media Club St. Louis even, which I had the privilege of moderating. 

Dafna also stepped in to interview with David Siteman Garland for The Rise to the Top.

Gotta admit, for ME, the real treat was getting to have Dafna as my houseguest during her Missouri adventures. We had time to talk about everything from business strategies to mascara. Social Media is a great place to get acquainted and stay in touch, but there’s nothing like the time spent talking face-to-face to really connect!

This marks the launch of a program that I know is going to bring tremendous value as more and more professionals become certified to teach and coach from Bob Burg’s best selling book “How to Cultivate a Network of Endless Referrals.” In addition, certified consultants will also be trained to teach the Five Laws of Stratospheric Success from another best seller – written by Bob with John David Mann – “The Go-Giver.” (as well as a second Go-Giver book which is due out early next year.)

For over a year I have been developing coaching programs and teaching from “The Go-Giver,” and I’ve seen the impact the lessons in this parable has had on my clients and audiences. The launch of the Burg International Certified Consultant program will spread this impact throughout the world, as we have consultants becoming certified from many different countries.

Bob was in St. Louis to present “Endless Referrals LIVE” – a full day of teaching his system of successful networking from his bestseller “How to Cultivate a Network of Endless Referrals.” The event was sponsored by Yellow-Tie International and Lisa Cupini.

I had the privilege of accompanying Bob as he was interviewed by Charlie Brennan of KMOX, recorded a segment for STL TV, and sat down with Jeremy Nulik of St. Louis Small Business Monthly.

After a day of listening to Bob share the message of “The Go-Giver” to one audience after another, it became very clear that this is more that “just a story” to him. This story is a philosophy of life that has brought him the stratospheric success he now enjoys. I am honored to be part of bringing that philosophy to my clients and audiences.

I’ve been asked by the authors, Bob Burg and John David Mann, to develop coaching materials to teach the Five Laws of Stratospheric Success outlined in the parable.

So far, working with Bob and John to guide me, I have developed a one hour presentation of the Five Laws and have very much enjoyed introducing audiences to this approach to Stratospheric Success. I have also developed, at the request of a client, a series of six workshops. Each module explores opportunities to implement one of the Five Laws with the final module dedicated to creating a master action plan.
